Creating a brand with social purpose

Rebranding Rhondda Housing Association to RHA. We helped to shape the brand strategy, messaging and visual identity for the organisation.

RHA is a forward-looking organisation, working across a number of critical areas within Social Housing. As their territories expanded and their services diversified, they were keen to move away from a descriptive, regional name.

For the housing association Valleys to Coast, the way that the repairs and maintenance arm operated was broken. The entire process from customer to company was fragmented and frustrating, thus needing a new sister company to adapt to the needs and expectations of its clientele.

The challenge

The key challenge was to create an identity that best represented the organisation, it’s people and the communities that they work with. The identity needed to be distinct, flexible and set the foundations for the next chapter in RHA’s growth.

The solution

Following a brand positioning audit and name development, the brand strategy was built around the heritage and good will that already existed within the Rhondda Housing Association brand and bringing these to the fore through a new brand platform identity.

The RHA identity was crafted, taking inspiration from the valleys and homes that are so important to the organisation. This provided a flexible graphic system, that supports the visual identity and messaging.

A new website was designed and developed for RHA to act as a core communication tool for the organisation. The site was designed to be content rich, accessible and easy to maintain whilst presenting the RHA identity in a complementary manner.
